Consultation for Clinicians

Although you may no longer require supervision as a licensed clinician, you may find yourself wanting to discuss your caseload with someone who will not only keep your information confidential, but also someone who understands the nature of the work and can offer insight and expertise.  The old saying that “two heads are better than one” often holds true in the helping professions, especially in clinical work.  Perhaps you may also be struggling with aspects of your own business and need a helping hand sorting it all out.  It can be both exhilarating and overwhelming becoming an entrepreneur.

I offer consultation to other mental health professionals for both clinical and administrative/business topics.  We focus directly on your identified areas of concern, and work together to come up with specific, actionable solutions.  I can help hold you accountable to completing your goals and serve as an additional source of support.

Supervision for Clinicians

If you are in the process of becoming licensed and are seeking a supervisor, I provide face to face, individual supervision to meet the requirements of your licensing board or governing body.  I have supervised several counseling and counseling psychology interns and helped prepare them for their licensing examinations.

In addition, as a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC), I provide supervision for clinicians seeking their addictions certification, i.e., Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) in Illinois.  Supervision follows the Counselor Model from the Illinois Alcohol and Other Drug Addiction Professional Certification Association (IAODAPCA) and meets hourly certification requirements.

Please note that supervisees are required have their own internship or job placement at a site where they deliver therapeutic services to clients.  Supervision will consist of weekly or biweekly individual hourly sessions at my office where we will discuss your clinical work, address therapeutic questions and concerns and explore professional development.

I utilize an integrative relational framework which is influenced by my psychodynamic training and I welcome your theoretical approach.  For example, if you are utilizing CBT in your work, we will case conceptualize from the frame of core beliefs, automatic thoughts, and cognitive distortions.  If you would like to focus on and learn more about any particular theory, we can include that in our work together.
